That is lovely....I hate that you had to part with it. I hope it found a loving home. It's such a shame that the under 25 crowd wants mass produced particle board furniture that's just going to end up in a landfill in a decade. I love antique furniture because it was built well and built to last...they had no concept of WalMart/Ikea furniture every being a thing. In the past, when a family bought a piece of furniture, they envisioned it lasting and being passed down through the generations.
I love the woods , the grains, the quality and creativity along with the work using nothing but the best of woods. I am like you, I prefer those beautiful works, not just furniture, but pieces of art. I have some other things. I have a rose chine I had for years. For a long time I wouldn't use it. I was born in 1947 and this was a woman.s bridal china. I put it in the cupboard and this time I said, I am going to use it sometimes. Why keep it for someone who has no appreciation? So every once in a while I set my table with this beautiful china.
