Interesting read
I can confirm that autism rates are higher than previously thought, especially among female, but there are two other factors to consider:
First, autism rates are rising, but since the cause of autism is unconfirmed, the cause of the rise is unknown. Possibly heavy metals. Possibly smoking during pregnancy. It definitely includes rising survival rates for people with autism, who then have children and pass on the autism genes.
Secondly, diagnostic detection methods are rising, both in accuracy and in the prevalence of screening methods. More parents are aware of the possibility of autism being a developmental disorder that could happen to their kid(s).

Posted by altschmerzI was diagnosed with autism by a psychologist after a day of testing, but my current therapist keeps saying she doesn't think I have it (or I'm a "little bit" autistic).
