Oh today I had one of those moments. I am usually pretty good at keeping myself quiet about what I really think when the lord/jesus talk starts at work. But today I almost lost it.
Early morning, at a farm, I am responsible for spraying salmonella vaccine on baby chicks and we have contractors that take the chick baskets from the delivery truck inside the house. This contractors are like from a different planet; anything you can remotely imagine I have to see. There is a preacher among them. A small older guy that I can barely understand, always smiling and I swear he is high on something.
Today he started saying (what I think I understood) that we should find God in the next house. House meaning chicken house in a chicken farm.
I tried to ignore he was talking to me. He insisted. I am looking at him trying to understand why I would find God on this house and we didnt find on the two previous ones, in my view every house is the same thing.
My nerves are already on a fine line trying to understand the guy, avoid laughing or even going into questioning his line of thought.
Then he asks me if I don't want to go to heaven. (I am puzzled where that question came from?!) I said: heaven is right here.
He then has the courage to say my answer was wrong.
That was it. I am probably 5" taller and a good 20lbs heavier than this little preacher. I am looking down at him and I took a deep breathe, put myself together and said: you think I am wrong? You have your beliefs, I have mine. I make the best of what I have here on earth (pointing down to the ground), I know when I die, I will be just fine.
Then I walked away and back to work.
I am still bugged about it. Lol
