I'm sorry, I completely lost it when you said your ancestors stol it from the French and the Natives fair and square. I loved it when George Carlin said that America was this nice piece of land that we inherited, well actually we stole if from the Mexicans and the Indians, but it was nice when we stole it. It would be more funny if it wasn't what actually happened.

@Captain747ex I recently found out through DNA testing that I have absolutely 0% Native DNA in my blood, mostly English and French but no Native DNA. This was a real surprise because half of my family have a distinctly dark aspect about them that has always suggested Native heritage, to the point where those who looked the most native tended to deny it and play it down. Let's be fair though, it's about rights of conquest and I will admit that my English ancestors cheated and did some really nasty shit to win out in the end. The competition also did nasty shit to win but apparently not quite nasty enough, still we need to put this behind us and settle up with the winners and the almost winners. No point in lying about it, the history is there for all to see, especially if we read between the lines because the winners write the history books and they never speak badly of themselves.

@Surfpirate Yes, very true. What has been done cannot be undone. Events that have happened in the past may have been very brutal and downright a violation of human rights but we weren't at the point we are at today. All we can do is move forward and learn from the past and hope it never repeats itself.

@Captain747ex A little payback wouldn't be such a hard thing to take though and make the sentiment seem more genuine or we can just let the Native owned Casinos take it all back one pull of the lever at a time. That's what the local chief said to me when I was building a hotel beside a casino so they could keep the big losers from walking away until they had bled them dry and the big winners so they could comp them a room, champagne and maybe some hookers to keep them playing so the odds would come back in the casinos favor.

@Surfpirate I viewed the casinos the same way. Taking the money back with that false hope of striking it rich at the casino. I say go for it. Seems fair. It would actually be nice if we actually viewed the Native population as fellow human beings and work towards improving their living conditions.

@Captain747ex I've always viewed the Native peoples as equals because well they are. I used to hang out with a medicine woman and a shaman, they were nice and didn't hold my being white against me.

@Surfpirate That must have been an experience. I don't think of them any different either. I just wish the United States would do something about the conditions on the reservations. The water is horrible an unacceptable to provide to anyone and they do nothing about the living conditions. They have the highest numbers for alcohol and drug abuse and also the highest level of unemployment. Their schools are worse than the worst public schools but nothing ever gets done to reconcile these wrongs.
