Lovely, nothing like that will show up here for at least 2.5 months.

will probably Bloom there right about the time it's 95F and 90% humidity here

@hankster That is a reasonable prediction.

it seems like it's that way so much it's hard to miss. how warm will it get in your neck of the woods?

@hankster Peak temperatures most of my life seemed to be below 90F but in the last 6 years we have broken 100 F several times.

it's all changing. the number of hot days, and how hot seems to have increased. we have armadillos and fire ants all over the place which we didn't have 10 years ago I'm guessing. 2 years ago I caught what they call a tarantula hawk in our wood shop. it's a gigantic black wasp thats supposed to stay on its side of the Mississippi River, the other side. no doubt things are changing.

@hankster The ecology here is changing rapidly, our vegetation is changing and wildlife normally found further south is moving north from the prairies into the parkland where I live even larger species like pronghorn are showing up around here.

Posted by FernappleI went for a walk in the woods today, and on a tiny oak tree, I found this wonderful cluster of, so called, Oak Apples.

Posted by sc62Day trip to the lake last weekend. I spent most of an afternoon next to this lily patch. It was such a nice, refreshing mini retreat.
