Funny, we have had a small flock of bluebirds in our yard today and yesterday (in Florida). This is the second time in 9 years that we have seen these lovelies. I think the birds in your picture are bluejays.

We've had a bird spending the night on my porch for the past week. It is totally unfazed when my dog and I go out at night. I'm happy to give it shelter, but not thrilled about all the poop on my porch. Lol

Looks like a barn swallow, its probably planning a nest under your eves.

@HeathenFarmer I think you're right. He's out there again so I compared him to some Google pics, and he has similar tail feathers.

@dkp93 It is the shape of the head and the beak I recognized as well as the colour at the rear.

are you sure that's a pear tree? does it make pears? I'm just asking because it's so big, I never seen a pear tree that large.

@AmiSue Almost every house in my neighborhood had a Bradford pear. They've gotten so big though that many of them have had limbs break off. I had limbs break off on two different occasions before it completely broke a couple years ago.

@AmiSue Wow, you're a great tree momma to go through the trouble! I didn't know you could do that to trees.

I'm really sorry to post this, but I think I kind of should had oughta maybe just in case......

Posted by FernappleI went for a walk in the woods today, and on a tiny oak tree, I found this wonderful cluster of, so called, Oak Apples.

Posted by sc62Day trip to the lake last weekend. I spent most of an afternoon next to this lily patch. It was such a nice, refreshing mini retreat.
