Yesterday morning I got up early to take a walk along this trail that’s on top of a hill overlooking the town I live in. The sunrise was blocked by those clouds … I thought it was beautiful – the sun trying to peek through …
I also observed the fog rolling over the hills (Flint Hills to be exact) – it was eerily beautiful to watch, took it about 15 minutes to pass over.
Several wildflowers in bloom. This iris (I think??) – not sure what it was doing here … seems out of place in the middle of this field …
My heart was full and content after my walk
Iris rhizomes, like daffodil bulbs and others can be leftovers from where some one used to live. they seem to travel either by an animal moving them or maybe some big equipment used to move soil. it's so cool to see them pop up and wonder why/how did they get there? cool moment! you could transplant it this fall into your yard after looking up what position is suitable for it.... just a thought
Posted by FernappleI went for a walk in the woods today, and on a tiny oak tree, I found this wonderful cluster of, so called, Oak Apples.

Posted by sc62Day trip to the lake last weekend. I spent most of an afternoon next to this lily patch. It was such a nice, refreshing mini retreat.
