Here's to my first post in this lovely community!
Greetings! Ironically, my real name is Christian. I'm a 22-year-old Kentucky atheist, who was raised Catholic. I left organized religion at 16, I became an atheist at 17, and became an anti-theist at 19 (I was mainly motivated to become an anti-theist when I saw just how much religion influenced the Christian Right's childish, bigoted response to marriage equality finally being achieved in 2015). I'm also very left-wing (though I'm VERY politically incorrect), as I favor a Scandinavian-style social democracy. I'm sure this was a given, considering my political views, but I love Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn.

I apologize for my long absence, but I attended a funeral in Detroit over the weekend for a distant cousin (who lived to be 98!). Overall, the service was nice, but one of the pastors shamelessly used his eulogy to whine about gays and same-sex adoption, and said that cartoons are teaching kids that it's okay. I was thinking, "Yes, how dare they teach kids tolerance?"
You should have seen the look on my face and the look on my brother's face. This was a BLACK CHURCH, and pretty much NOBODY agreed with the pastor and were like, "Huh?" After we got in my car to get to the cemetery, I said, "What the FUCK was that?" That douchebag almost ruined the funeral service for me and almost everyone else there.
