Over my years of service, church parades, prayers at various ceremonies and invoking "God" for protection were a regular part of the job. I hated every part of it but shut my mouth because it was "part of military life" and there were those that took comfort from the fairy tales . . so if that helped them so be it.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Religion is too often forced upon USA service and Atheists only enjoy pockets of secular commands....Congress courts and executives are pushing the illegal motto IN gawd WE TRUST since 1955 over the lawful motto of 1789 E PLURIBUS UNUM on coins since 1909 and currency since 1956....none the less US CONSTITUTION makes zero mention of the alleged gawd word and bans "religious tests" in Article 6....meaning no question can be asked with a required religious answer
