I have just discovered and joined this group. Can somebody answer a question for me. Since there seems to be a taboo surrounding the beauty of the naked human body, is the taboo being seen naked or seeing someone else naked? I could never understand the problem.

I would reduce it to just nakedness... Of course the taboo goes both ways.you might recall the photos of naked prisoners in an American prison in Iraq. This worked as a humiliating measure because the torturers knew how the exposed would feel.
If the taboo of being naked and ashamed of being naked didn't exist, it could not be used as a weapon or instrument of torture.
