Just found this group. Been gardening in back yard for over 40 yrs in NE Joplin. Peas are done for this year. Just picked the first tomato. Several very small squash looking good. Pole beans coming up. Almost ready to dig potatoes.

We always had gardens when I was a young kid. I'm doing it for myself in my back yard (suburb) in raised garden beds for the first time at 52!
Looks like I won't be able to actually plant anything till next year however, between the season and getting the soil right before starting. But, I am looking forward to it.
