Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Why should you feel the need for such pretence? There is no reason why you should answer the door. If they persist, just tell them to go away, you're busy.
It's the same with phones, I only answer them if I want to and I just let it ring if I'm busy, or just don't want to answer it.

I have my doors and windows boarded, have been owned the same inner city house for 10 yrs, when i moved there it was on the dangerous side, today its beginning to gentrify and be much safer but have never bothered to take boards of windows. Thus i don't hear knocks at the door

I never answer my door. It's either a 7th day adventist, a neighbor wanting to talk or an ax murderer.

I'm with you on that. I don't like answering for package deliveries. Lol.
