Interesting little study. I've been doing keto for over a year now and not only have i dropped 90 lbs, my blood numbers are perfect.

Find a way of eating that matches your metabolism/biochemistry and stick with it!

What works for me is preparing my own food instead of going out and just not buying the stuff that shouldn't be eaten to have around the house, and if I'm going out to eat a keto pod
[ketogeek.com]
or a "fat bomb"
[amazon.com]
before, which drops the temptation level down. Because face it, some carbs are delicious.

I'm also not a hardliner - I routinely break the diet about every 2 weeks in a minor way (cookie or 2, muffin, that type of thing) just to shift out of ketosis. Started doing that about 6 months in and I shift back into ketosis very quickly. It varies my intake and doesn't keep things in the forbidden fruit category.

I'm also very lucky in that my wife does keto so there's built in support. It doesn't hurt that she can't do gluten, and I can't eat nightshades, so entire food groups are eliminated automatically for us when planning meals.

That's what works for me, anyways.

That is wonderful! I also support keto because I know that carbs are what made me gain weight and add inflammation to my body...this week eating with others has been horrible and I feel it...sluggish, tired, bloated, etc. I am glad to get back to my normal eating...thanks for sharing...it is always wonderful to hear from people who have also had success! Very inspiring to find something that works! Great numbers are the best!

Trying to eat with others can be a real pain. 🙂

What's been a shock to me is how easy it is to stick to keto. It's not something I really have to think about, when I get a craving for something it's almost always for something "on the menu". Except for double chocolate muffins with chocolate chips. Those may always be a recouring craving.

How long have you been doing low carb?

@1of5 I did low carb when it was Dr. Stillman and then Dr. Atkins...then the low-fat info came out, which was a bunch of crap and made me gain weight...sugar and carbs just don't process for me...

I started keto a few years ago and lost 46 pounds...I slacked off a bit and gained a about 10 pounds. I have a friend who has been wonderfully informative and supportive...I am sure I will take off the extra weight by the end of summer, in time for the beach move...ha ha..

It is easy...I just get lazy and make excuses...
