How do you like funding that could be going to your communities may be going towards people illegally crossing the border? "The bulk of the funds — $2.9 billion — would fund the Health and Human Services Department’s program to house and care for unaccompanied children, according to a Republican summary. In addition, it would devote $793 million to improve conditions at Customs and Border Protection processing centers and border stations." [politico.com]

We are reaping what we've sown.
This mass migration from Central American countries is a direct result of
FAILED US policies in the region, going all the way back to post-WWII.
Something else the current incarnation of republicans has failed to acknowledge.
We are largely responsible for the abysmal states so many people are fleeing.

I freakin' love how republicans like to demonize the majority of immigrants who
are risking everything to escape situations WE helped to create.
Before people in the gop start running off at the mouth about how awful it is
that it's costing us so much money to deal with it now, perhaps we should be
examining the bone-headed moves WE made that have precipitated ALL of this.
Especially our ridiculous "anti-drug" policies.

Quit trying to stir the pot, when it's our own fault that it's boiling over.
Learn your history, and accept responsibility.
We've caused this. It only makes sense that we should be paying for it.
