I saw him last year in Houston. It was beautiful. He touched on my and my friend’s pain of losing our sons, yet did so with respect and realism. When he first mentioned it, I thought I was going to have to leave or distract myself, but almost immediately he gave respect. He did not know we were there and could not have known our pasts. He acknowledged my pain and treated it with respect. For a few brief minutes in his set, he seemed to understand my pain like so many others can not. I wish it had been recorded.
