Do you think Fasting is a good or bad thing?
I like to 14 hours between my last meal the day before and my first meal of today.
Also, will go 36 to 42 hours once a week of not eating.

I only eat when hungry. Sometimes, this includes a fast. The body does an amazing job of letting me know what I need/

Once a week, 24 hours. Sometimes on Friday and other times on Saturday so the body doesn't adjust to just that gap .

Fasting is fantastic. I'm using it to rebuild my health. I water fasted for almost 5 days, I"m now trying for another 5 days. Research is happening on water fasting, look for stem cell fasting research out of UC Davis.

Not for diabetes

There's a documentary out there on Gaia, and Netflix, "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead". It redefined what "fasting" was for me. It's an interesting watch.

routinely i have my breakfast some time after 12 noon, & my last meal of the day, dinner, wouldn't be after 20.00, so i do already intermittent fasting of ca.16 hours daily - except for monday, when i don't eat anything. so you see, this is quite similar to what you describe, & i'm still satisfied with it after a coupla years.

I say good for you. I've read there are benefits to fasting and once my job calms down I'm going to try it out.

What are the benefits and for how long is considered optimal?

I hate to count hours for any shape, form or reason. I am retired, I eat, sleep, chase dogs when I feel the urge... but stay discipline and good luck guys in your task guys.

I go in and out of the fasting thing but never for more than 14 hours or so. I get hungry! šŸ™‚ šŸ˜›

If I don't eat I faint.

Given MY experience (might be a personal quirk), I have to assume bad as missing just one meal typically triggers a severe, debilitating migraine. I've never figured out why, but know that it's a very consistent consequence.
