Not much of a hike, this is only a mile from my house. The bigger one, likely the female looks like she was posing for pictures. Knee pain has curtailed my hiking but I just got cortisone shots and they are really helping. I love bears and know some great spots but they are a minimum 3 to 5 steep rocky miles, so fingers crossed.

Nice, I just get skunks, deer, squirrels, stray cats and an occasional blue Jay out my back door.

Female raptors usually are bigger....they can defend the nest. She's gorgeous, isn't she?

Sorry about the knee pain--but--I'm something of an expert on that subject and can tell you that, if it comes to it....you'll ask yourself why you waited so long to get new ones. I promise!

Fab picture 🙂 sorry to hear about the knee.

I'm lucky 50 years of hiking with heavy packs takes a toll. Doctor says I'll probably never need knee replacement so I'm happy and maybe all the exercise did more good than harm.

@Buttercup yes, it seems to be a fine line sometimes. If you don’t need a new knee you’re probably doing quite well. My mum and friend both had one and were in tremendous pain prior to it, but are much improved after.
