We loving doing everything outdoor. We just moved to northern New Jersey. I'm sure we'll have season passes at a local slope by next winter. We own a canoe and I'm sure we'll use it often in nearby Lake Mohawk.
If you are into hiking, camping, canoeing, biking, skiing, etc and live from the Poconos to NYC, please also join my "NYC and Northern New Jersey Social Group" Group too. (Assuming you wouldn't mind sharing these activities with other local freethinkers) Outdoor activities will feature large in things my wife and I post, at least.
I look forward to some outdoor ice skating after future cold snaps. I saw they do that on Lake Mohawk, and ice yachting as well. I will be down talking to someone about that. I am a competitive yacht sailor today. I cannot pass that up.
Oh right... I guess sailing would be a major outdoor activity. While in Texas, I have raced a J/105 on the order of 40 weekends per year for the past half dozen. Plus several standard regattas per year, and usually at least one distance offshore event per year. You get plenty of the "outdoors" sailing the Newport-Bermuda race and the return delivery to Miami. You are well seasoned in storm sailing before that trip is complete, I promise. I will be doing the Chicago-Mac race for a second time this summer and looking for a new boat to crew with around Long Island when it gets a little warmer here.
When I lived in SoCal, I did a lot of rock climbing in Joshua Tree (I lived in 29 Palms) and occasional climbing all over the state. I also flew sailplanes. That was a great way to see the area and get to know the geology.
When I left Indiana at age 13, I was just getting into cross country skiing. I am now 48 and finally return to a land with winter. It won't be long until I own a pair of these skis, if I had to guess.
Also, we do a lot of running. Our program has been interrupted by cancer treatment and a move across the country, but in our last full year, we did 27 official (chipped/bibbed) 5ks or longer. Several 10ks in there and one 15k. We close on our new house the 29th of this month. We plan to start making miles again soon.
We need to start training, like yesterday, if we're going to be in proper shape for to do the Cow Harbor 10k this year. It's very hilly.
Does motorcycle or sports car touring count? I don't have a bike at the moment, but often do. I could certainly rent one for any event. I definitely do have a sports car.

Posted by CallMeDaveI've never been a big wildflower person, but this is the season for it here in Appalachia. Other people can identify every variety. I'm not there yet.
