Today we found plane wreckage on a 1943 crash on a nearby mountain. Debris is scattered on a steel hillside with a vague trail. The plane was a twin engine B-25. Supposedly they were given clearance to fly at 3000 ft, and hit the 4000 ft ...

Some photos from hike near my house. There are beavers in this lake, I never see them but have seen the large beaver dens in the lake before and see trees downed by them. Saw a mallard with her babies in muddy water, and swans. Also a male and female...

Going Rogue; my favorite type of camping trip. I inflated the raft in the parking lot, using an electric pump, then carried it down to the river for rigging.

Was given a well used and abused kayak today. Took it out to see if it would even hold water and it did great. I can't wait to spend more time on the lakes around here this summer!

So I don't so much go on hikes as I do drive out to the desert and wander about looking for rocks. It gets interesting walking a few miles into a canyon with a pick, shovel, and various hammers and chisels only to have to bring all that stuff back ...
