When I travel, I like to take some small projects with me that I can do on the plane, train, etc. Socks are something I love to knit but don't like to wear. I finished these up for a friend I am visiting here in Canada...I will give them to her before I leave next week as a remembrance of this trip. She sees me knitting them and has told me that she loves them but does not know they are going to be hers...ha ha ha.

Those are really nice. I knit socks and wear them too! I suffer from cold feet and find knitted wool socks helpful. I use circular needles a lot and have never had trouble with them on planes. I think the restrictions are very silly. I am planning to take my current lace-knitting project with me when I fly to England next week.

Circulars are great on planes...they take up so little room and are easy to use even in the tightest of spaces...I did not have any trouble with them when I was at Heathrow, but that was a few years ago, before the terrorism stuff...be sure to check...
