I am in Austin, TX for work this week, and this is my current "traveling project". I spotted the yarn at the store and instantly knew it needed to become a scarf - it's hard to tell in the picture, but it's sparkly. A scarf is the perfect size project to tote along on a week long trip.

That's pretty. Light and sparkly will be a nice accessory. It looks as if you are working lengthwise. What will the finished dimensions be?

Thanks. I am not really sure what the size will be yet, I'm using this pattern: [ravelry.com] with a worsted weight yarn and an I (5.5 mm) hook. So it will be over a foot wide, and for the length I'll just keep going until I run out of yarn. So I suppose size-wise it will be somewhere between a wrap and a scarf.
I sometimes have a tendency to start projects with whichever yarn inspires me, no matter how far off it is from the pattern, just to see what happens. 😀

@sc62 I like that idea - starting with a beautiful yarn and just keeping going and seeing what happens. You have given me inspiration for what to do with some exotic but rather small quantities of yarns I have!

That's a lovely pattern.
