My daughter and I attended a book launch yesterday evening for Edward Willett's first book of poetry, "I Tumble Through the Diamond Dust". It was a lot of fun. We chatted with a lot of people we know - artists, writers, dancers, engineers - a very creative crowd. We even met a former provincial poet laureate, Gerald Hill. The venue was cozy with soft, comfy sofas and lots of art on the walls, including an installation composed of vinyl records. We nibbled yummy food including designer gummy candies of all things. I'm just sorry we were too tired to stay for the readings and music. Next time we'll plan our day better.
P.S. The book is well worth reading. Well-crafted poetry with fantasy and sci-fi story lines. Wonderful illustrations, too, by Wendi Nordell. The kind of book that's fun to share.

We're enjoying the book. Just read " Slime is thicker than Blood" in which one sister arranges to have the other sister killed.
@pixiedust That sounds positively Shakespearean.
@Palindromeman Except both sisters are snails and one is eaten by a dog.
@pixiedust You present a conundrum there. My counter offer is that my fictional Jesus swears like a sailor, drinks a lot of beer, and can knife fight his way out of a situation. My fictional Lucifer is a smooth talker with trust issues. Both of them have previous relationship issues.
As they say in the classics - it's complicated.
