I am a Science Fiction author and lover of most things with 'star' in the title.

I love writing, reading, and movies. I've always dreamed of writing novels. My dream is to travel this great wet dust ball meeting those with an equal passion for reading and writing stories.

I also grew up at the arcade. (What eighties kid didn't?) I grew a fondness for video games. My favorite genres include racing and Scifi games.

I do like to get out of the house on occasion. Sometimes, it clears the clutter living produces. Outdoorsy stuff I like camping, walking on the beach, and most of all stargazing. I also enjoy the rain, sunsets, and sunrises.

Dogs, cats, horses, etc. they seem to like me and I like them too.

So, I recently realized that tomorrow will be my 20th anniversary of quitting smoking! I can't ...
Gohan comments on Feb 16, 2018:
Great job, I'm in my 8th year abstaining from cigarettes. The smell of smoke, residue, and ashes nauseates me, but that's a positive. Again, great job.
Are you forgetful or easily distracted?
Gohan comments on Feb 15, 2018:
Yes, forgetful and easily distracted. It's a struggle with distractions when trying to meet my daily writing quota of a thousand words a day when writing. I have issues with the grocery store as well.
Do you tend to lean towards nihilism?
Gohan comments on Feb 15, 2018:
No. I have found meaning and I retain my morality. But before I started writing, I had my days where I embraced some nihilistic feelings.
Sad but accurate
Gohan comments on Feb 15, 2018:
Enough. It is time for our lawmakers to learn from those who have successfully reduced gun violence, therein lies the answer.
Do people of above average intelligence have a harder time finding a partner? Is it more difficult ...
Gohan comments on Feb 15, 2018:
I can't speak for other people of above average intelligence, but in my experience, yes, it has been considerably difficult to find like minded individuals. I'm selective when it comes to finding a partner. I even struggle to find friends. I feel that the majority of people look down on those with higher intelligence and this makes it difficult to find a group or just one. I've caught myself trying to blend in to the normal crowd, sometimes with considerable awkwardness, which has the opposite effect.
Why do women have to basically spell it out for men in what they want? Why are they so clueless?

Gohan comments on Feb 14, 2018:
I've been single for about a year now. I write to keep myself busy, and this keeps me sane. Some days the loneliness is unbearable, but I endure.
I am afraid of ghosts, though I don't believe in them
Gohan comments on Feb 14, 2018:
You have an imagination, try writing.

Helping to change the world one word at a time, Science Fiction, and Fieros.

Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
Welcome.
Should atheism be taught in schools? I have heard from some science teachers that creationism gets ...
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
In social Studies the world's religions should be mentioned, because they're a part of this world's social makeup. Schools, save for religious schools should remain entirely secular. Teach the children Math, Music, Art, Sciences, Grammar, U.S History, World History, Social Studies, Critical Thinking, Home Economics, Wood Working, Mechanical Engineering, and electives that bridge the gap between HS and University.
What is your take on the 2 party system?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
I feel with proper education, something the current "representatives" fear, we can dispense with the representatives and their corporate driven corruption. We can then represent ourselves. We can make bills and laws to govern ourselves. Keep the Constitution and amend them appropriately to support the people as the true government of this country. I'm tired of the "Oh, they don't like my bill, let's just shutdown, nonsense. This is juvenile and unprofessional.
Where is your favorite place to vacation?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
In movie theaters or in books.
Believer Bashing?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
I don't believe in bashing the believers for believing. Don't do unto others what they do to you and they will learn that you might have a better idea. At least that's the hope.
Where do you get your morals from?
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
My father taught me to be empathetic and moral.

Can an atheist be happy for the future
Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
Can an atheist be happy for the future? yes. As a Science Fiction writer thinking about the future is my job. I feel that we as humans will get our collective heads out our asses and start working for the betterment of mankind and for Earth. In this dream humanity is fairly happy. As for the afterlife, I figure that I'll figure it out when I get there.
Okay single folks, how are you spending Valentine's day? Or as I call it, "Single Awareness Day"? ...

Gohan comments on Feb 13, 2018:
I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of bubblegum. With all kidding aside, I'm here to find people with similar views of the world. Also, it wouldn't hurt to find someone to give my heart to.
Standards
Gohan comments on Feb 12, 2018:
No. I have too much respect for women. I have to be attracted to or develop an attraction in order to have sex with someone.
What do you know that most others don’t?
Gohan comments on Feb 12, 2018:
I don't know. I know a great many things. Others may know and are pretending to not know, you know. These days, at least in my experience, knowledge makes you an outcast. I thirst for knowledge, because I've been taught that knowing is half the battle.

If anyone was looking for the perfect Valentine's gift.
Gohan comments on Feb 11, 2018:
The perfect gift is always love.
My love or their love?
Gohan comments on Feb 11, 2018:
Though unreciprocated love is hell. If you're loved by someone you have little if any love for, you can learn to love them. It may take time and a whole lot of frustration, but it's better than the alternative.
How many will be attending the 'Trump-Giving Day Militany Parade?'
Gohan comments on Feb 11, 2018:

Gohan comments on Feb 10, 2018:

What makes people read.
Gohan comments on Feb 9, 2018:
A genetic predisposition for stories.
Why do I hate it when a man sexualize my insights/intelligence/etc?
Gohan comments on Feb 9, 2018:
Intelligence is sexy and is subjective to sexual orientation. There's a word for someone who has a fondness for intelligence, sapiophile. To those who aren't sexually oriented to one another the fondness is still present, but the sexual component is not present. I'm sorry if you hate the adulation. Attractiveness and understanding, love, and respect aren't always mutually exclusive.
Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know. -- Ernest Hemmingway.(author) Have ...
Gohan comments on Feb 9, 2018:
Intelligence can be a mixed blessing. It grants those who possess it an insight to the world and this has an impact on overall happiness. Those with it could see the paths that governmental representatives are taking, and this can have an adverse effect on happiness. Those of higher intelligence have a greater capacity for creativity, this could have a positive effect on happiness. Therefore happiness is subjective.
Does anyone remain confident in Trump

POF - Plenty of Fish. Anyone familiar with it or use it? What are your thoughts on pof?
Gohan comments on Feb 8, 2018:
I have a POF account and I've had some dates. It used to be good, but since ownership of the site has changed hands it has become nothing but porn ad after porn ad. You have to pay to see your matches on the meet me section. I think it needs to go back to being the great site it once was. It needs to be 100% free again. Now, I shall step down from my soapbox.
I want to thank @Affinis for giving me this idea (after reading your thread on Lorraine Hansberry)....

What does American greatness mean to you?
Gohan comments on Feb 7, 2018:
The United States of America has never been great. It has always been a work in progress. Some members of our government like to see progress halted at all cost. Some have a different view and wish to push us into the future with a sense of dignity. We've seen democracy work. Some individuals seek to tear down all that has been built because of their personal beliefs. We need to make our representatives represent the people not the corporations.
Is it easy for you to adapt to change?
Gohan comments on Feb 7, 2018:

Have you ever burned a bible?
Gohan comments on Jan 31, 2018:
I have a love for books, so to burn one is a sacrilege in and of itself. This is of course my opinion. To each their own. I don't judge. I see a bible or any other religious text as a work of fiction designed to manipulate.

Send Betsy DeVos a message: let her know how she has failed to make the grade. – NEA
Gohan comments on Jan 24, 2018:
Trump said it himself, "I love the uneducated." He has a track record of appointing people in positions they staunchly disagree with. In DeVos' case, she hates education with a passion. She wants to destroy the population by making our children into mindless slaves only capable of pulling levers and digging coal. That is something that should not stand and it has for the past year. Don't just impeach Trump, that won't solve the problem. Invalidate the entire administration and remove them from office. We can no longer tolerate a government that only works for corporations with little to no regard for the people. Return democracy.
