"We just get the one life, you know. Just one. You can't live someone else's or think it's more important just because it's more dramatic. What happens matters. Maybe only to us, but it matters." (Téa Leoni as Gwen in the movie, "Ghost Town" )

Follow thine heart during thy lifetime.
Do thou more than is commanded of thee.
When thou hast gained riches,
follow thou thine heart,
for all these are of no avail if
thine heart be weary.
Diminish thou not the time of
following thine heart.

I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. Mark Twain

As far as I know, I only have this life to live, so doing my best to make it as good as I can. So far, so good. At least I'm not rushing through this life on my way to heaven. Which I am pretty sure does not exist.

Life is a bitch and then you die.

BTW why all the posts about reincarnation?

You got this life - so live it!

The moment you are born... you start dying so might as well enjoy the ride while is there.

Every day above ground is a good one.

I dunno. We're ultimately made of energy according to Einstein's formula, and since energy can't be created or destroyed, we have always existed and will always exist in some energy form. I think we're just on to another life.

I was born with past life memories, as was my younger sister, who kept referring to "when I was a boy.." Careful research of young children 2-6 yrs old, all over the world, remembering details, conversations, and recognizing people from recent past lives show the accuracy of their memories.

Many children remember being on other planets, being animals, even ghosts, etc. They didn't publish any stories that weren't verified, so even checked out the details the kids said they observed when inbetween incarnations, when they were ghosts.

The people studied all agreed that they themselves chose which babies in the womb to enter and inhabit, and when to incarnate. Many studies showed that people reincarnate in clusters..entire villages of people sometimes incarnating together, and sometimes remembering each other, especially under mild hypnosis, and the accuracy of the remembered details were verified.

They speculate that's what's behind the common feeling that you're already good friends with someone you just met, and maybe even for the feeling of "deja vu."

Why aren't these studies in the mainstream? Can you cite their sources?

@Hominid (sigh) I have on several occasions listed my sources, and it took a lot of time to write it all down, just from my own research collection. Try google.

@Hominid OK, I wrote down a few titles of past life research book I own on Kindle, that I already posted here on other comments, but couldn't find again.

The problem with dead is that it is so permanent.

But what if we're all wrong?

@El-loco I'm an agnostic so I'm not wrong either way. 😉

@El-loco lots of claims of resurrections, but so far none have stood up to investigation.

I've always liked that saying.

I always loved the line from Shawshank Redemption...”Get busy living, or get busy dying.” I choose living.

I love Shawshank Redemption!
