Now I know we are doomed. We have no future. At least no future I would want to be part of in any way. I was just asked the following:

“What is the difference between literacy and illiteracy?”

To which I responded:

I know you can’t hear me laughing, but I am. I’m laughing hysterically. You see, the question as written answers itself. It displays illiteracy literately. I cannot ... er ... oh, never mind.

@Eclipsechaser Precisely! And yet both words are used interchangeably - go figure!

The difference is the added syllable of 'in.'

@Jacar In my experience, both are deployed to describe something which can be burned. And then I turn to one of my favourite movie references - everything burns:
