Hi. After 30 years or so as a newspaper journalist, I just self-published my first fiction. It's called "Walter Hudson and the Mackinac Island Affair" and you can read a synopsis on Amazon (I am working on a website). Essentially it's an adventure with an 11-year-old protagonist on Mackinac Island in the mid Sixties, when we were all excited about the race to the moon.

Sounds very readable. The hardest thing about self-publishing, I have found, is getting publicity. Use all the contacts you have to get your work mentioned.

Sounds cool! I will check it out.

Sounds great . Interesting characters (first time in a long time I've heard anyone mention Jane Hart - the wife of the conscience steps to the front) or the old Rambler himself. My first reaction was trapped against his will? Then it dawned on this slightly numb mind that for an active young mind invested in the now as well as the future, Mackinac is not the place to be. Well done.

@NellieBly -- Interesting premise and I can foresee tortuous plot line possibilities. Also a good example of write about what you know or let what you know help you write about what you may not know.

Congratulations on the release and I hope you are rewarded for your effort. Who is the publisher?
