I am glad i found this ; eloquently stated, it reflects alot of my expierence in life. Some of my siblings chose a similar path that took years(2-3decades) to arrive at similar life
principals and conclusions. And like you,i am subject to interaction with some "VERY RELIGOUS and stridently conservitive " family members.
So out of 7 siblings ,2 fall into a category that would be80% PERFECTIONIST 20%(or less) Individual.They remained that way throughout their lives(sheltered as these were),while the rest through marriage and life expierences became more pragmatic and dropped the pretense of perfection.Also the time of social upheaval was very pronounced when my formative years occurred . I rejected
the conscripts of religiosity partly because i saw MUCH
TOO MUCH hypocrisy (and do today). The pulpit telling
me about meat/no meat while race issues ripped at the fabric of society.

a change through thier LIVES. I live in a consevitive town,
with haphazard economics,and social tensions. I almost
debrief when i am here. The statements about "serious comments on frivolous topics" & " making fun of people
trying to walk on safe ground " may be LOCALIZED to certain
topic groups, because i am not seeing( or posting)such.
Also it is proven that humans need time to digest a fact;
Then act on it( incorporate it into action)-i do not quit work
to boycott Walmart nonstop ,because they sell guns.
I am possibly attending a TOWN HALL MEETING where

These terms ,i do not think are absolute.Interesting but not to be a "locked in defining" personality trait. For instance:
I have a new job;i will be off balance, less confident, meet
and encounter narcissists, ect. My coping skills are intact,
so i shall prevail over most and eventially all aspects that
that are disruptive to my well being( as i had at my previous
job).Through the years I've learned and applied the skill set
necessary to overcome the issues in difficult situations.

so much inertia. In my state they had to start with the
common sense laws that were studied,but never voted on.
The back ground checks; the domestic abuse "red flag";
waiting times; the "gun show" and gifting loopholes;update
theft of gun records; "bump stock" and retrofit outlaw.
3or 4 of these are before my legislative body(senate-R
representatives-D) brought by the Governor -D after they
were tabled in the past... frustrating,as the killing continues.
The realists in the gun group can see now -they will be judged on were the blood lies. Do we really need 3-4 guns for every man, women, and child?We do little to nothing to

Future generations will judge weather we acted morally or did nothing.We are showing our lack of resiliance as a
society if we are incapable of correcting the problems.Some

Over time i have come to PITY this mindset where ever

The library and travel(day bus tours) ,are no wastes of time.
Hobbies, specially on off hours(not peak rush hour).Get
some nature (museums,zoo,water parks,bike,walk trails).
I mention peak hours,because im an introvert, crowds
are not my cup of tea. But "off" hours are user friendly.
