In Canada, on Manitoulin Island a village was discovered that dated back 9000 years. That puts the village about 4000 years older than the pyramids of Giza and many others, yet, and older than most. Mesopotamia is reported as being about 12000 years old/ the oldest human civilization and Egypt rose about 5000 years ago according to the information I found. This village on Manitoulin dates back to 7000 BC and for that matter The first settlers of Canada goes back fifteen thousand years, older even than Mesopotamia. Yet Northern North America seems to have gotten lost in the archaeological and anthropological scheme of research and advancement. Curious

Found the link. This requires further investigation if the Clovis Barrier was found to be broken and suppressed.

What does it tell us about migration and where from?

Fascinating!

That’s a very good point. There seems to be a Levantine fixation regarding early civilisation but this opens up many areas of enquiry.

Let’s hope more research uncovers a timeline. Do you have a reference so as to follow the teams work?

@DonaldHRoberts

Thank you.

Have any findings of the contextual meaning, and significance, of this discovery been made? I have sometimes wondered whether there is a political element in deciding dig sites, and whether the climate is a factor - digs always seem to be in sunnier climes.

@DonaldHRoberts Yes, I am aware that it is real, and it's not something that I was doubting. I just wish to know why such an historical find has attracted so little interest and whether, more generally, there are reasons why some finds, or areas, are overlooked

The evidence is mounting and it is convincing. I suspect most anthropologists are aware, and believe. It takes time to find dig sites, excavate them, prepare artifacts, and publish. I've seen about six videos about man in the Americas before the Northern land bridge.
