The fall of the Soviet block allowed the whole of the world to see just how corrupt a government can become and still hold on to the illusion of free and fair elections, freedom of expression and the freedom to protest while still keeping the Jack boot firmly on the jugular of the people all the while claiming it is for their own protection from "Them"
Covid has been the excuse for switching freedom to, into freedom from!

Freedom can be defined in many ways. Apparently, the Conservatives feel that freedom has to do with money and the ability to make a profit. Therefore, the worker is free as they are able to make a profit for their master, I mean boss. The ability of them to be profitable for their bosses means that Unions should not exist. They allow for the profit to go down and therefore are bad. Individuals are free to work as long as they are profitable for their boss. Thus the boss is free to fire them as soon as his freedom is endangered. Now if there are not enough jobs for the working people they are free to do something else, like die. Companies should not be responsible for retirement as this diminishes the profit made by the company and is therefore bad. Now the individual is free to do anything, even start another business as long as profit can be made, thus debt and interest are a means for the companies that offer these to allow for freedom of the individuals who need them. One is defined by the profit they can make, other than this the term is meaningless.
