watching the late Queen's funeral procession today, i was reminded of the time her majesty walked by within a few ft of me. it was when i was in an RCAF Honor Guard in Summerside, PEI for one of her visits.
that was way back in the early 1970s. i wasn't surprised that Queen Elizabeth was still active, carrying out her royal duties right up until two days before her death. there are times, though, that i wonder how i made it this long.

wow, it really is a small world. i didn't remember the year but that would have to be it.
we could have been next to each other. i remember that she stopped to talk to a guard member a couple places to my left.
we might have known each other. i was a met tech. if you made the base golf team i'd know you for sure.
@callmedubious I was with the band of Prince Edward Island Regiment. We accompanied her all over PEI during that visit and we often supported events on the base for years and years. Really missed it when it closed
