Sorry, but when anyone, anything, person or organisation tells a child to not tell their parents, alarm bells start clanging vigorously in my head. Topic irrelevant. Telling children to be deceitful to their parents is not acceptable under any circumstance, don't care who it is, even doctors.
If you are to be a legal guardian of a child due to birthright or any other means, you must not have any information about that child withheld from you. Would have thought that was plain common sense.

I had the best childhood and still recall the awe of discovering something new, my first snail. I understand how important those years are and what fucked up childhoods so many have. I was very very lucky. Kids have fucked up childhoods because of fucked up adults affecting their lives, for life perhaps, which will always happen but is still fucked. But one area we can stop it is pushing ideologies. Let kids be kids and enjoy the wonders of childhood. Think we can agree regarding religious ideology, include this one as well.
It is death by a thousand cuts. How long before kids have talks with hormone therapy "explainers" at therapy sessions they "don't have to mention to Mum if you think it will upset her......It's only talking between us, no-one else need know if you don't want them to". No problems with this privacy for an adult, but don't you dare do this with children!

The last line of the meme, "No secrets in schools", if that's the position of the parents then I fully support their stance. For a Union to march against that stance is not the union's role imo and I would not want any union fees supporting it if it was my union.
