Question

I sat back in my reading chair and was about to lose myself in a good book when thought flashed through my mind that went like this. What defines Canada in culture Arts, literature,,,or any thing. Nothing I consider significant came to mind except chaos and multiculturalism. So I asked my self why and actually came up with an answer from that deep consciousness I call the OLD MAN. First off and so obvious that it gets over looked. Canada is still in infant stage and has not had time to develop its own culture. Even first nations had not developed a national culture because nationalism did not exist among the indigenous people.
But now is now and I can find nothing that identifies Canadian culture unless we consider the Borrower Factor, which is very evident but always with a washed out version. We also sell out anything that does define us...or defer to the states...like the incident of the Canadian Arrow.
I believe every country/nation goes through these growing pains and maybe after fifteen hundred or so years we will find some aspect of us that defines our culture besides being the land of snow ice and damn near perpetual cold miserable weather and winter. The great frozen north.
I am glad to have been born here but I have no idea what to be proud.

multicultural yes,and we are starting to stand up for the rights of all the minorities and want the indigenous people to get what is rightful theirs and for some of the indeginous people decent land to build communities and agriculture and bussiness instead of swamp land in a far northern part of a province where no other people would live,,if the government would get there ass in gear, Canadains i beleive in the most part are very naieve and we are dam lucky that we have not got into any major internal problems,,we have the goody two shoes attitude at times and bury our head in the sand to a lot of everyday situations ,we should be thank ful we have and or had some great individuals and organzations who have gone over and beyond for this country and our Military is under appreciated and under funded but still do a hell of a job withthe out datedequipment held together with duck tape,,if it were not for some of the ingenuity of some of our service people coming up with ideas to hold everything together ,I think what defines us is we under appreciate ourselves and do not brag about our accomplishments

I believe it is the multicultural blanket is what basically defines Canada..
Not saying other countries don't do it .. but our take on it is somewhat special.

Canada and Canadians have a lot to be proud of, we have done a lot of great things. Unfortunately we are Turning into wannabes. Sad.
