Thank you for that Casey. My 'heroes' have died! Zappa, Vliet, Mark E Smith. Who's left?

True enough the Old Guard has passed. Hopefully there exists a new underground scene, ahead of it's time, that old coggers like us have no access to.

I first heard Captain Beefheart on BBC Radio 1 in 1967, courtesy of John Peel. I have all the official albums on vinyl and CD. I only saw the band once at the Colston Hall, Bristol at the time of the Spotlight Kid release.
I saw the Magic Band, supported by The Fall some years ago. Superb.
Even after 50 years I am still discovering things in Beefheart's albums. I wonder how many bands you can say that about!

You sir, have clearly attained a level of enlightenment that informs your recognition and appreciation of true musical genius at a level most humans never reach.. I salute you.
