My Christmas 2022 Essay.

I like to hear nostalgic Christmas music, but nostalgia is just icing on the cake. The best icing in the world doesn’t make a terrible cake good. Likewise, nostalgia doesn’t make a myth credible. Clever and cute songs about Santa Claus, and “news” reports of Santa’s travels, don’t legitimize the Santa myth.

Likewise, nostalgic Christmas carols don’t legitimize the Jesus myth. Most adults are over the Santa myth. Unfortunately, most Americans---and lots of highly-educated Americans with degrees in law, medicine and science---are not over the Jesus myth. The brainwashing is astounding. The only good thing about the Catholic Church’s nightmare of sexual, mental, and physical abuse is that it sheds light on the groundless system, and thereby reduces the Church’s stranglehold on minds.

It's snowing here, making the scenery a classic white Christmas. I’m expecting family for dinner today.
