I doubt the "Old testament" is taught...even in Christian schools...but maybe....
And I'm sorry; but I couldn't find a Wiki bio on this woman;
But I did find this; [openlibrary.org]
And here's a copy of the Twitter FFRF "freethought" for today.
Of course it is still instructed, not taught but formally instructed aka indoctrinated. The opening line is the #1 essence of the doctrine, the very most important bit. It is because this first instruction is used so repetitively and constantly on children that religion continues. Remember, it is the first testament that all 3 stooge Abrahamic religions consider a holy book, the basis of their retarded faiths. So this is true for all of them.
Religions are all bullshit lies, so start off with the biggest lie of all to set the scene. So what is the #1 "goat herders guide to the galaxy's" doctrine?
There is a God.
This simple statement is imparted as fact to immature minds, retarding them for life in many cases. And all other retarded religious "knowledge" relies on this simple statement as their basis for being imparted further by the indoctrinators, the religious instructors.
You don't teach religion, you instruct it.
Teach and Instruct are about the same; I was a science instructor - and a teacher.
What I see happening still is a lot of "indoctrination" or bullying (AKA brainwashing)
@Robecology You do not teach doctrine, you instruct it. No questions or comprehension needed, just regurgitate it back.
Do not discredit yourself, you are a teacher of the scientific method where to question is required. If you merely imparted information contained within doctrine, which pure sciences like chemistry have, you exposed your students to the doctrine of science, instructing them in it. That is part of teaching.
I'd bet money that the "no flood, no evolution'' crappola is taught in fundamentalist schools.
Hopefully the # of "Fundamentalist" schools are waning....
