An old expression, "If you cannot tout your integrity preach your religion." is ringing true with the USA Republican's using taxation as a license to steal then justifying the theft with religion. I am Canadian where both main parties have played this game since they were born because they were born of colonialism which transformed to socialism for the rich at the expense of the poor. Both Canada and the USA are handing political power and privilege over to religion to get votes at the expense of the lower and middle class. Destroying the wall between church and state destroys human equality, rights, and opportunity necessary for a meaningful happy life.

Don't see how Canada is handing power and influence over to religion (expect maybe Ontario and Alberta for sure) . Citing a few more example might help you argument

Exchanging money, power, influence, and opportunity for votes is the norm in Canada.

Problem is, religion in both countries is failing. More and more are being turned away at what many see as false, corrupt and immoral. OF course it is the religious that are more malleable than the nones.

Religion failing is not a problem. People are evolving into a society based on respect for human beings and life in general, scientific facts, valid observations, and a greater understanding of the world around them without having to resort to dogma and imaginary creatures.

@Trueheartbc Yes we (some of us) are evolving but not fast enough. Nature is tired of waiting. After physical evolution cultural is the slowest the evolve. We'd better get a move on.

I, and my 2 siblings were raised without religion and we all turned out fine. I feel no need for it and I and my husband and I had 3 kids, who were also raised without religion and they are all fine too. I feel the need for the the wall of church and state, as it should and always be !
