Depending on the season, clothes have a tendency to weigh you down. Clothes are also an artificial barrier to getting to really know another person. Think about how much money and planning goes into dressing up to put on another layer of impressions on other people and back to you. However, money plays a part there. Richer people can always look better than people without as much capital. Wearing the latest styles. There is no such thing if you're nude... and that's only one aspect of it.

Try taking a shower with your clothes on. Being naked in the shower feels good, right.
Same at the beach or anywhere else it just feels great to swim naked and be naked.

Other than when a person needs warmth or protection, what is the attraction of wearing clothes?

Clothing isn't natural.

Clothing restricts movement and is much less comfortable physically than not wearing clothes.

Need more info. What attraction specifically?

You have to experience it to understand it.

You have to try it. Until you do you will never understand. It is not scary after the first time.

Thanks for the input.
I do like skinny dipping ALONE.
Sans clothes does not appeal to me but I support people in their choice in a proper setting. The idea of naked people in a department store or a restaurant , well.........no. But in a membership colony I have no problem.

I would go asked in a store but not if I might get arrested.. be brave, girl, and try it..

I've always been comfortable being naked around other people. I went to a boarding school, and it was expected of us while showering, daily. Also, the only options for sleeping were either naked or pyjamas (no daytime clothing allowed in bed, including underwear.) I've always hated pyjamas.

I think what clinched it for me was being on a non-naturist beach and overhearing a group of girls condemning me for the crime of 'going topless while overweight.' Naturism tends to be a lot less judgemental. Indeed, it functions largely on people pretending not to notice that those around them are naked. Anyone critiquing anyone else's bodies is considered a bit of a perv for having a proper look. Naturism can be very affirming in this respect. It's the best thing someone with body issues can do. I've seen people with massive scars (open heart surgery) and even women who've had mastectomies, happily naked at naturist venues. I suspect it's a huge body confidence kick for them that their body abnormalities aren't treated as a big deal by others.

It has a pleasant social scene, as long as you avoid the politics. There's a sense of detachment from everyday life (work, chores, bills) when you take off the clothes that you'd typically do those things in. It's supposedly a great leveller: you can tell a lot about people from the way that they dress, and when they undress, those signals and the prejudices that go with them get left behind.

Also, getting out of water and not being stuck in soggy swimwear is a much more pleasant experience. Changing on the beach without having to do the towel dance (trying to keep it wrapped around you, while you take your swimwear off and put your clothes back on) is another bonus.

Swimming naked is more hygienic, too. People who shower naked before getting in the pool tend to wash more thoroughly. People who shower in their swimwear are unable to clean the bits that really need cleaning. And swimwear doesn't create a barrier to prevent those contaminants entering the water. The moment you get into that pool, you turn into a human waste teabag. A pool where people swim naked needs lower doses of chemicals than one where people wear swimwear.

Last of all, there's a proven correlation between societies that are prudish about nudity and ones with high teen pregnancy rates. Raise children to believe there's no taboo in seeing someone of the opposite sex, naked, and they're less likely to play 'show and tell' out of curiosity.

Feeling natural and free. It's also very comfortable in a warm climate.
