the burst looks like my 1939 playtime, and the other looks like a Kay I almost bought. sweet gear. I love the hard V necks from that era.

The burst is actually a mid-fifties Kay, the natual is a 1940 L5pn Gibson.....
@jasen that's cool, not real well versed with this era of guitars, The trapeze on the Gibson is why I thought it might be a early 40s Kay, but that's just from the pic, never saw a trapeze like that on a Gibson, but have not seen many Gibson with trapeze either. cool stuff.
@wrinkledaddypimp the Gibson tailpiece on the L5 is the same design that it has been since the mid- 30's......the L5 and the Johnny Smith model used this exvlusively; no other guitars in the line were graced with it's elegant design.
