I've been both. It all seems like grey area.
True introverts are the ones on the bottom. The one on top is an extrovert with social anxiety
This is something Iāve been considering about myself. I have typically considered myself to be an introvert, but since I suffer from social anxiety, Iāve just assumed that was part of it. When I get drunk I do become more willing to speak to others, so does this mean Iām not as far on the introverted side of the scale than I thought? I just wrote a post about trying to understand this distinction.
@LivingParadox it could. Or it could mean you like people better when you're drunk . I believe the best test, for whether or not one is an extrovert or introvert, is where they draw their energy from and rejuvenate themselves. Introverts get their energy back from being alone, and extroverts draw energy from being around others. If I'm around people too long I need plenty of alone time to get back the energy I lost being around others.
@Rudy1962 Right, and usually for me, I need some time alone after social interaction though sometimes it is the other way around and I feel emotionally drained having only myself and my thoughts to deal with. Iād say itās about 70/30.
Ha ..true. One reason why I am an introvert: I LOVE EVERYBODY when I'm drunk
