I was about to join this group, but I see that the mods tagged it with #KKK. Could the moderator please explain? I do understand the issues with IQ testing and school segregation in US history, but I don't think it's an appropriate take for THIS group based on posts and comments.

I don't know if I am qualified to join. I don't have a current measure of IQ, and I am not sure if I want to open that Pandora's box. I am a college professor, and I think that implies some level of intelligence, but there's a lot of squirreliness within the ranks of academia as well. What sorts of topics do you discuss within this group?

There are three high IQ groups that I am aware of , although I do believe there are more . Mensa requires that you score in the top 2% (2/100) or higher on a standardized IQ test , such as the ACT or SAT tests that you take as you are graduating high school , in order to get admitted to college . Intertel requires that you earn a score in the top 1% (1/100) . There is a third group that requires you score at the top on the thousand level ( 1/1000 ) . I wasn't that smart . so have only heard of it . K=1000 . I don't know why they chose to use KKK , but this has absolutely nothing to do with the Klu Klux Klan . Perhaps Triple K would make more sense and be less confusing . Perhaps someone here , knows more about that one than I do . I took the time to do a little research , and found , " Triple 9 ," a group based on the 1/1000 test results . That most certainly makes more sense that KKK . I don't know if I was in error , or if , like you , they were't happy with the connection , and made a change to the name .

Thanks for the heads up. The only person who can edit tags for a group is the groups owner/moderator... or at least that's how the code is designed. I removed the erroneous tag and will try to see how it was added. @RavenCT @Kris725

Thank you! That was just weird. And uncalled for.

@Admin - someone tagged the Hi IQ Group with a hashtag of KKK. This needs to be removed.

I'm not the mod. for this group - however - anyone of a certain level - can tag a post.

The tags are to help find subject matter.

I'm going to report this to Admin.
