Classic trolley thought experiment: You are on runaway trolley. A split in the track is imminent. You can veer left and kill 1 person or veer right and kill 5. Which lever do you pull?
This is a classic ethics question, & actually leads to a few more that get a bit murkier as you continue. This assumes, also, that none of the people are known to you.
I don't know any of the people: veer left.
I know and care about the 1 person: veer right
Having been asked this question before, I now just avoid runaway trolleys altogether..
However, Trump is on one side and Kardashians are on the other? Tough one. Can I add a hand grenade to this scenario?
Silly question, am I killing politicians or a local atheist society?
