Rush Drummer Neil Peart Dies at 67

Awful news. Recently read an interview with the Godsmack drummer, in which he claimed he met Peart after retirement and asked if he was completely retired or would be very selective about taking up small projects here and there. The answer was a blunt no. Peart was satisfied that he'd done all there was for him, after outliving his wife and son. Such an amazing individual.

My friend called me yesterday and told me the news about Neil’s death. My heart is heavy. I cannot believe this brilliant man is gone. Not only was Neil a great drummer, he wrote most of the lyrics for Rush. Deep thought provoking lyrics that had meaning and told stories. He was a poet and will be missed. His music and poetry will live on.
