I get it, he's about science, lets talk about science.
This would work to promote unity if everyone did it.
However evil thrives when good people say nothing.

I mean he's an atheist, but good luck getting him to speak up about it or join a cause like Bill Nye did. I respect his education, but he's got a pretty big ego on him and usually does little to confront the toxic arguments of the religious that tries to muddy the waters of science.
