i like this - which says a lot, as it is a new one with me & anthems in general.

Actually it was primarily written in 1988...bicentennial year. That is how fast things move in Australia.
@FrayedBear, what i meant to say: the fact that i like an anthem is new to me.
@walklightly It was written by a pseudo folk singer / pop star.
@FrayedBear, ah, that might explain the likability!
I assumed when I first saw the pic it was going to be another of those bloody themes of this land being invaded. In fact it was a really good anthem and the guy has a fantastic voice. I'm all for one land with one peoples. All lands have been 'invaded' by others be it England, France, China etc. So nobody is really where they originated (and for the ill informed the origin of us all is Africa). So an anthem that is totally inclusive is a great idea.

I'm fully with you on this. Well put.
For those not familiar with the Australian anthem and its origins please investigate and shudder when you see how people are manipulated.
