Way back in 1977 Arthur Herzog wrote a SciFi book called Heat about runaway global warming due to combined interconnected causes that fed each other. He's starting to look like a prophet.

There are more ( Alvin Toffler, The shock of the future ) were they all pretty much discuss and predict "changes". Well, that's a safe bet to begin with. Accordong to Ray Kurzweil ( The singularity ), we all are living close to the critical point of exponential rate of change. It's the natural way of things. I agree there are activities that are not going to be sustainable very soon but we are barking to the wrong tree, the real problem that must be addressed NOW and no one is talking about is overpopulation and how fast keeps growing.
