Doves from my front window.....we've never seen doves here, let alone at the feeder.

I'd have thought Mourning Dove here in the Northest US. [audubon.org]
But I agree with @Robecology - that ring around the neck means they are something else.
If they're like our Doves they are birds that will come to feeders and boy are they noisy!
I didn't know there was something so similar - I will have to pay close attention come Winter to what's actually visiting my feeder!

We're enjoying seeing these birds so close up. I have to make sure not to move the curtain too much & scare them off, or I wouldn't get the photo.
I think that's the relatively rare "Eurasian Collared Dove" which is a recent import and is expanding quickly across America.

@Lilac-Jade Canada is part of North America...look at this GIF map...the habitat's clearly expanding northward...
