One of my favorite themes.
Not sure I entirely understand what Raku is and where it came from, though. Can you explain?

Raku is a fast firing technique originally crafted around the Japanese Tea Ceremony. I've read other accounts of its origins but that's the one most often quoted in the ceramics field. However, in the West, we don't have that concept. We fast fire, for sure, but then we pull it from the kiln while red hot and then place the piece into a container filled with organic materials that combust on contact with the clay piece. That creates a post fired reduction environment that can generate brilliant reds from copper which turns green in an oxidizing environment. Look up Paul Soldner, deceased, for some more info and pictures. It's great fun!!
I KNOW I posted a response here - must be out there in the ether. I have done pottery in the past, I wish I'd gotten to do more with my extruder and raku' kiln. Enjoyed it while I could.

It's not too expensive to get back into it!
@farmboy2017 I sold or gave away ALL my equipement when I sold my property 4 years ago. I should have rented a storage unit but I was not thinking and I really don't like carrying around a bunch of stuff - mom was something of a hoarder and I'm NOT. lol I do wire weaving, I'll have to get some photos on this site, there are some on my profile.

These stick/branch forms are made using an extruder. It's like a big Playdough machine. They're hollow.
