Hi, I am new here. Just want to share my crafting. I have been weaving for about 5 years now. I just starting knitting about a month ago. Even though I find it a pain in the ass, I am really enjoying learning the different stitches. I have a history of painting, ceramics and photography. Just because I did it, doesn't mean it was good....

It gets easier you naturally at some stage, find more efficient and comfortable ways to hold the needles etc. Well done!
I've finally come to the opinion (a former perfectionist), that it is not doing it well, it's doing it at all. I find having a creative outlet helps me. It's therapy. The final product is not the goal, it's the journey TO the final product that is important. I don't see a photograph. Please, try again to upload.

So funny! That's how I feel about weaving. There was just not enough contact with the fiber. So I gave my loom away. Still have a rigid heddle loom in the attic. Maybe one day... but now I just want to spin,,spin, spin. Welcome here, Madi

I have a hand spindle that I so love, as its so portable and its strange how other people love to watch you spin must be hypnotic.
@jacpod So glad to have another fibre artist here. I learned spinning on a drop spindle, decided that the name is most appropriate and took lessons on a borrowed Ashford wheel. I am still fascinated by the Navajo spindles that are supported on your thigh. Well, so nice to talk to you.

I knit as well. I find it easier than crochet but it takes me forever to finish anything.

One of the things I got into as I am so into textiles was tablet weaving and fingerweaving - I like messing about and not going to a pattern just seeing 'what happens if I do this?'
