Yep, I crochet. I really like amigurmi (crocheted little animals and dolls). There are tons of patterns on ravelry and pinterest. Here's some things I've made from free ravelry patterns.

There are a number of organizations that solicit hats for cancer patients which can be found by googling them. However, the one below is different and specially for children. They make hats which are the basis of wigs based on beloved children's characters. Please check it out. The patterns may not be challenging, but the premise is heartwarming.
