Hi! I'm a knitter that also crochets. I mastered knitted socks about 2 years ago and didn't stop knitting them until about 6 months ago. I then tried Entrelac (picture of my 1st blanket is attached) and though that was fun, I seem to have hit a stopping point for knitting recently. Lately I have been enjoying photographing my area of the world and posting the pics. on Instagram.
That's lovely, "mistakes" and all. I am also both a knitter and a crocheter and do things in spurts/cycles. It seems I've been crocheting wedding or baby blankets for a couple of years now. I would like to get back to knitting something like socks.
Thank you all for your nice posts. I must admit that I am proud of that blanket even if it does have some mistakes in it. My problem now is that I started another one in diff. colors, but after 3 years of steady knitting I just can't bring myself to work on it. I tried other projects, same thing. Instead of getting right into it as usual, everything feels wrong and awkward. Maybe I am just burned out on knitting. I have started taking pictures of my neighborhood and posting them on Instagram which is fun. Have you ever hit a point where you just can't get into the craft you love? If so, how did you get over it?
That is very impressive. I have looked at entrelac but never tried it. You are inspiring mne to try except that we have just hit the hot part of the year when I turn to tapestry work and lightweight lace-knitting. I've got a stash of yarn I bought for something else that would be perfect for something like that. Thank you.
Thanks. It wasn't easy to get the hang of it, and it did take a while to get in the swing of it. I watched some videos on YouTube, but they were mostly confusing. I ended up with a book that had good illistrations. But the most helpful advice I got was from a video. The woman said to follow the instructions exactly even if they sound wrong as everything will workout in the end & it does.
LOVE the pattern!!! You'll have to post some of the pics you've taken.
